Privacy Policy

Skaggs Appliance LLC (doing business as ServiceTechnician) respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we share it.

1. What we collect

  • Account info: email address and password (stored hashed via Supabase Auth).
  • Technician profile: name, phone, location, trades, certifications (EPA, NATE), brands serviced, tools, pay expectations, availability, bio, profile photo, and resume (if uploaded).
  • Shop profile: company name, contact, phone, website, location, trades, services, pay range, benefits, and description.
  • Activity: job views, applications submitted, saved jobs, login timestamps, and IP address (hashed for deduplication of view counts and purged within 30 days).
  • Cookies: session cookies issued by Supabase for keeping you logged in. We do not use third-party tracking cookies for advertising.

2. How we use it

  • Operate and secure the Service.
  • Display your profile to relevant counterparties (technician profiles only to shops you've applied to, not to the general public).
  • Deliver transactional emails (signup confirmation, application updates).
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

3. How we share it

We share information with:

  • Service providers that help us operate the Service — Supabase (database + auth + storage), Vercel (hosting), and, if you sign up to receive notifications, Resend (email). These providers process data on our behalf under written agreements.
  • Shops you apply to. When you apply to a job, the shop that owns the listing can see your technician profile, uploaded resume, contact info, and your application message. They may respond via the Service or reach out directly.
  • Aggregated listings partners.When you click "Apply" on an aggregated listing, you are redirected to a third-party site (e.g. CareerJet or its partners) and their privacy policy applies.
  • Law enforcement / legal process where required by law.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Your choices

  • Edit or delete your profile at any time from your dashboard.
  • Delete your account by emailing kskaggs@skaggsappliance.com.
  • Request a copy of the data we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing the address above. Response within 30 days.
  • California residents: you have the rights described in the CCPA, including the right to know, delete, and not be discriminated against for exercising those rights.

5. Security

We protect information with industry-standard measures: encrypted transport (HTTPS), encrypted storage at the database and file-storage layer, and role-based access. Resumes are stored privately and accessible only via time-limited signed URLs generated for shops with an active application connection.

6. Retention

We keep account and profile data while your account is active. After deletion, we remove personal information within 60 days, except where we must retain limited records for legal, fraud-prevention, or audit purposes. Hashed IP addresses used for analytics are purged within 30 days.

7. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

8. International users

We operate in the United States. If you access the Service from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. We'll post the revised version here with a new effective date.
